More Notes

Though the trailer is rather unimpressive, I'm psyched that X-Files: I want to Believe is finally a reality.

If you haven't gotten it, you need to read J.D. Nelson's latest chap: it resembles itself.

Today I got the Orange Alert Mixtape in the mail! When I read What to Wear During An Orange Alert it makes me want to hug my Mom and write letters to small animals. Or is that the other way around?

And did I mention Kayla was awarded her green belt? I'm gettin' scared of that! :)

Quick Notes

Another great Reader Meet Author segment from Jason at Orange Alert

Rural Messenger's Michele McDannold has another thought provoking piece over at Zygote In My Coffee.

To all my APA friends, I'll have it in the mail next week.

Gotta go.

Quoteable

"The act of reading is not so different from the act of writing. It is a connection to the underworld, to the preternatural, the sublime: channeling a realm not of our own making, a mirror image perhaps more real than the one you or I inhabit, here, now, eyes skirting type, heads nodding toward those black letters on a page." --Domenic Stansberry (excerpted from the Green Apple Books e-newsletter.)

More News at Ten

"Tell me who killed the Lord in the first place. Was it you?" --War Babies

"And what is an angel but a ghost in drag?" --Stan Rice

Things still very hectic. With the exception of martial arts and church, I've temporarily dropped out of most activities as my anxiety is still high. Got into a car accident (my fault) yesterday. 2008 is shaping up to be another banner SH*T year, just like last.

But still we must see the Light. And know that this too will pass.

Lacey is doing better and for that we are eternally thankful. Hopefully she'll stabilize soon.

In the near future, I'll be concentrating most of my creative energy on my first solo chap project tentatively titled Facelift which will eventually evolve into my book One Nite Pig. I find a whole book of my own material to be daunting (yet something I'm inexplicably drawn to) so I'm going to break the project down to something smaller (the chap) and see what happens.

Added more inventory to the Calliope Store, and much more to come.

Enough about me, how are you? Hope all is good.

News at ten, in the meanwhile:

Peace, love, death metal.

Nob out.

A Prayer for Lacey

"The world don't wanna be saved. Only left alone... Man still has one belief, one decree that stands alone. The laying down of arms is like cancer to their bones." --Megadeth

This morning my seven year old daughter Lacey was admitted to the I.C.U. in Diabetic Shock.

Tonight, I hold her up in prayer to my God. As do so many others. She's a fighter, she'll get through this.

Even when the nights are long and the road even longer.

Selah.
